The Trade and Investment Queensland office in Santiago is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual to join its team.

Comission of Trade and Investment of Foreign Government is looking for a professional who will be responsible for representing its interests through de identification, promotion and facilitation of trade and investment opportunities.

The position involves working with all senior members of the business development team and will be based in Santiago.

Main functions:

• Prepare and implement a Marketing communication plan, in consultation with the Department's Marketing communications function, to support the efforts of the lead business development in regional officers.
  
• Manage trade and investment activities in Latin America.
• Maintain and strengthen Queensland’s position in Latin America through developing strategic relationships and contacts with government representatives and business  leaders in this region.
• Manage trade missions and facilitate client visits to Latin America including preparation of visit  programs and accompanying clients and business delegations in those markets.
• Guide and support Queensland companies to pursue trade and investment in Latin America  including the provision of market intelligence, business leads, advice, introductions, vetting of partners, assessing opportunities and minimising risks.
• Provide after-care to major Latin American investors in the Queensland economy and target new  additional major investors for Queensland.
• Work closely with and support Queensland agencies, industry groups and research groups that are to interact and undertake exchanges or co-operation with Latin American counterpart organizations, including through state to state memoranda and co-operation agreements.
• Provide accurate and timely market intelligence and strategic advice to Queensland agencies and  individual companies about developments in the economy and business situation in Latin America.
• Work closely with the Trade and Investment Queensland – Brisbane Office to co-ordinate joint trade promotional activities, missions and client support.
• Contribute to the administrative and operational management of the Americas office including reporting on activities, resources and outcomes.

Requirements:

• Strong Marketing communication experience and an ability to provide market research and other commercial advice to companies looking to expand internationally.
• International Business, Comunications or related studies.
  
• High level computer skills.
• Some travel is a requirement for this rol.
